Sam Clarke founded the firm Gnewt in 2009 which has won multiple awards nationally and globally from the electric vehicle, logistics, environmental and wider business sectors during its decade long journey of last-mile logistics using only electric vehicles. It boasts the country’s largest fully EV commercial fleet and the second largest privately-owned smart charging infrastructure network. The business was subsequently acquired by Menzies Distribution Ltd in 2017.  

Sam is a life-long entrepreneur, EV evangelist, industry advisor and EV commuter for over 15 years. He was a 2015 winner at the Great British Entrepreneurs Awards and is a Fellow and sector chair for the National Institute of Couriers. He has built quality relationships with key clients, the wider industry and Governmental bodies, including the London Mayor’s Office at City Hall. In 2020, he was voted #36 in the greenfleet.net top 100 most influential people in Low Carbon Fleets.
