About Talk: God expresses her love for the world in much the same way as a potter expresses love for the clay they are shaping. When a potter is shaping clay, they are listening and feeling and responding to the needs and idiosyncrasies of the clay in front of them. In much the same way, God is present to us and being influenced by the particular hurts and hopes and desires of our world right now. This mindset is present throughout the Old Testament, and perhaps best exhibited in God’s coming to humanity in the form of the human Jesus.
