At 38 while pregnant with her 3rd child, Becky Tilley found out she had a rare, genetic chromosome disorder known as Koolen-de Vries Syndrome which she passed on to her two youngest children. KdVS is characterized by learning disabilities, epilepsy, speech delays, congenital heart defects, and kidney issues. This diagnosis gave Becky clarity into her own academic struggles and has put her on a path of growth, resilience, and advocacy for breaking down limits and stereotypes associated with learning disabilities.

Becky is a passionate advocate for embracing uniqueness and finding strength in adversity. Her personal journey with rare diagnoses, as well as her experiences as a parent, inspired her to share her story with others. Through her writing, she hopes to inspire individuals to embrace their own journeys and celebrate their unique paths.
