In this episode of The Outer Side, Tony is absolutely honoured to be joined by Mal Leyland (of Leyland Brothers fame), and his daughter, Carmen.

Mal and Mike Leyland were the original Aussie overland explorers, touring across the country and producing feature films back in the early 1960s!

After recording 3 feature films, the brothers moved into TV, creating 'Off the Beaten Track', 'Trekabout' and 'Ask the Leyland Brothers' - going on to make hundreds of episodes showcasing the Australian outback and overland 4x4 travel. The Leylands are wildly considered as the very first Australian offroad content producers.

The Leyland family are now looking to re-create one of their most popular journeys - 'Wheels Across a Wilderness' where they will travel from Steep Point in WA to Cape Byron in NSW, creating a feature film of the trip to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the original journey!
