In Episode 88 you’re going to get to hear from Dr. Jasmine Zapata, or Dr. Jaz for short. Dr. Jaz is a double board certified doctor in pediatrics and preventative medicine and public health who used the challenges and tragedies of her own life to inspire her to be a source of positivity for others. She’s wife, mother, author, public speaker, coach, mentor, choir director, and champion for social change.
Some of the many things that we covered in this conversation includes:
• Her Vision of being a doctor at a very early age
• The formative relationship she had with her brother
• Recognizing the responsibility of having a “legacy impact”
• The owner to shape the future of a young person’s life and why it’s so important
• Challenging perspective on the differences in healthcare services and treatment for the black community
• How examining our own mortality can really be a benefit to us
• Finding ways to take action now
This interview was actually recorded a few weeks ago and with everything happening in the news in Minnesota and the unrest in the country from last week, some of the topics shared by Dr. Jaz really hit home for me and reinforced my desire to help people on a bigger scale.
