The prospect of better work-life balance is often one of the main motivators I hear for starting out in business. I get the appeal of feeling like you have more control over your time and flexibility in how you spend it.
But I also think that there's something more. Because in my experience, the big difference between having your own business is that you actually want to spend more time on it. It becomes a creative outlet for self expression.
And so as well as appreciating the flexibility that comes, there is also a question about how to preserve the hours that you do want to work, rather than just focussing on how to earn more while working less.
