Listen Later

Today is the final episode on the National Partnership for Recruiting, Preparing, and Supporting FCS Educators. In today's episode, we're gonna have two amazing professionals within family and consumer sciences education, who offer different perspectives of their professional careers. First, I have Karen Berg. Karen received a degree in Family and Consumer Sciences education at Washington State University and taught in secondary schools for 32 years. She graduated from Iowa State University with a PhD in Family and Consumer Sciences education and then spent 22 years as a family and consumer sciences teacher at Central Washington University focusing on developing opportunities for CTE students to complete or further their education. My second guest is Robert Van Dyke, certified Family, and Consumer Sciences. He serves as the National Director for CTE curriculum and assessment with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. He is working on his Ph.D. in Family and Consumer Sciences Education with an emphasis on online teaching and learning at Texas Tech University. Robert is active in FCS and CTE organizations through serving as the president of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences Board of Directors, president for the lead FCS education, and the North Carolina ACTE FCS division in North Carolina.
