Instead of trying to be fearless, we'd do better to acknowledge the fear of the unknown, but proceed anyway, so that we may resolve the conflict. Each obstacle presents you with a changeover from one act of your story to the next. When viewed this way, it makes your story more interesting and grants you some agency in the outcome.
