The Black Death is one of the most devastating pandemics in human history, killing an estimated 75 to 200 million people in Europe and Asia between 1347 and 1351 CE. It is believed to have originated in Central Asia and spread throughout the continent via trade routes, resulting in a widespread outbreak of the bubonic plague.
