These stories lead to him divulging details about his various near death experiences which include chain sawing through his leg, rupturing his spleen, being chewed up by farm machinery amongst other grizzly tails which revealed a death wish that he carried for many decades.

They discuss mortality and how the desire to live is stronger with the presence of children in their lives.
