Do you want to shield your animal from your feelings? That is a noble idea. But by hiding your feelings you become incongruent. When your feelings don't match up with your actions your animal gets concerned. The neat thing is, unlike us, animals don't judge our feelings. Don't hide your feelings. Talk to your animal, be honest and real and your animal can handle it just fine.
