pain, anger, strife, and hurt have a sinister way of being transmitted like a virus. those who cause pain very rarely face the consequences of receiving it back. it's transferred on. to the next friend or lover. a close friend of mine lives this every day. she does all she can to stop this vicious cycle, and if this is all that can be mustered by the end of days, then that is enough. it is admirable and honorable. and, i hope others who suffer in similar ways know how much that legacy means - to stop hurt transfer.
