S1E9 - Vaidehi Gajjar (@vgajjar95)
“While there is togetherness in loneliness, there is togetherness in healing” - Vaidehi Gajjar
In today’s episode, I had a conversation with Vaidehi Gajjar. Vaidehi is an Indian-American diaspora Asian in the hospital management field with side hustles in writing, advocacy, and journalism. Her passions include writing, mental health advocacy, and South Asian representation. Her works have been published, displayed, and shown in many different platforms. She has a book coming out called, “I’m not Crazy” Anthology so check that out!
We talked a lot about things like:
-Indian American identity especially during post-9/11 times
-Writing as a way to get through difficult times
-Family expectations for Asian American kids
-Mental health struggles (depression, anxiety, anorexia, burnout)
-South Asians and mental health
-Asian representation being South Asian
-Her book launch - I’m Not Crazy Anthology
-Indian Caste system
