We just read John 15:1-10 for today’s Scripture passage. Here the Lord said, “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser.” He then went on to say that the branches must abide in the vine, and that He will cut out any branch that does not bear fruit, while cleanse every branch that bears fruit so that it may bear more fruit.
Let’s contemplate on this passage carefully today. The Lord spoke of Himself by drawing an analogy to the vine, and this parable means that although those who abide in the Lord bear fruit, those who don’t will perish spiritually like a withering branch. In other words, today’s Scripture passage teaches us what kind of faith we must have to lead a proper life of faith.
