As I was reflecting on what to speak about this week, I thought about joy and victory. Why? It seems that there is so much negative and depressing news all around us. Our world is changing fast and it can be discouraging at times.

However, through Jesus Christ, and the Bible, you can enjoy peace, joy, and yes victory in your life. I would like to quickly talk about how you can live in victory and not defeat.

The book of Romans tells us that after Christ saves us, we are no longer a slave to sin. With the Holy Spirit now living in us we can have victory over sins, addictions, bad habits, relationship problems, and many other things. We CAN have victory in our life! We do NOT have to serve sin anymore!

Our verses from the Bible for today are found in 1 Corinthians 15:57-58 and 1 John 5:4:

1Co 15:57-58  "But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord."

1Jn 5:4  "For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith."
