9. Why Your Emotions Are Never The Problem

How do we know if what we are feeling is a problem or not? In this week's episode, I talk about the information we need to gather in order to determine what is a problem and what isn't. Just feeling an emotion in your body is never going to be enough information to determine if it's good or bad, useful, or a problem to be fixed.

And what happens if we go through life thinking that anything that feels bad in the body is a problem to be fixed? Buffering is a very common way for us humans in the 21st Century to handle emotions because it makes us feel as if we've gotten rid of the emotions we didn't like. But the truth is that we're just masking it with a bunch of external things that give you a temporary dopamine hit.
