“Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.” – Mark 10:21-22 Jesus wasn’t saying that in order to be saved that you have to sell everything you have and become a homeless beggar. As with so many of Jesus’ sayings, it’s the principle here that’s important. The principle here is that you cannot let anything stand between you and God if you want to inherit life. Think seriously about this question: If Jesus asked you the same question, is there anything that you wouldn’t be willing to give up for Him?
