If you have more than one passage of scripture committed to memory, chances are one of them is the 23rd Psalm. We encounter it often at funerals. It's appropriate in times of grief, but it's also a powerful daily reminder about what discipleship is. Jesus often used the same metaphor of a shepherd that the Psalm uses, so it's not hard to find Jesus in Psalm 23.
