As we move into the second part of the Lord’s Prayer we look at the will of God, the Kingdom of God, and how those two phrases can shape our lives and our prayer lives.
When you are praying, do not heap up empty phrases as the gentiles do, for they think that they will be heard because of their many words. 8 Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him.
9 “Pray, then, in this way:
Our Father in heaven, may your name be revered as holy.10 May your kingdom come. May your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:7-10; NRSVU)
