Have you ever wondered why critics and cinephiles often speak on tone and how it can effect overall enjoyment and exicution of a film. 1991’s Nothing But Trouble is a perfect example of how a good idea can be muddled by the wrong tone. Nothing but Trouble is a 1991 American comedy horror film written and directed by Dan Aykroyd in his directorial debut. Based on a story by his brother Peter, it stars Aykroyd and John Candy (both in dual roles) along with Chevy Chase and Demi Moore, and tells the tale of two yuppies (played by Chase and Moore) and the clients of one of them who are taken to court for running a stop sign in the bizarre, financially bankrupt hamlet of Valkenvania, which is dominated by a 106-year-old judge (played by Aykroyd).
