Distributed enterprise is a reality and Covid period has demonstrated a new iteration of strong need for such approach. I had the privilege to speak to a technologist I respect a lot, Andres Rodriguez, founder and now CTO of Nasuni. For some of you who follow me and the industry, Andres was the founder in 2003 of Archivas, a distributed, CAS/object storage software, acquired in 2007 by Hitachi and it's now HCP. Nasuni, launched in 2009, tackles a completely different problem, how to provide a universal NAS model to any users, local or remote, from the same data source being central on-premises or public object storage. This model merges primary and secondary storage and deliver a pretty unique user experience on the market.
