Marcela plays her 2nd shot on the par 5 2nd hole at Wombat Hills, and the ball heads way right towards a boundary fence, and appears to land in thick grass. As Marcela is not sure if she will find the ball or even if it will be in bounds, she correctly announces and drops a provisional ball in the fairway. After dropping but before playing that ball, a homeowner on the other side of the fence relays to some spotters that the original ball has come to rest on the course and is in the thick tall grass. This message is passed on to Marcela standing in the fairway. Not wanting to search for her ball in the long grass, Marcela chooses to complete the hole with the dropped ball. After holing out, Marcela asks a referee on the next tee about her previous hole. Are there any penalty strokes? What is the ruling?
