95bFM: Caveman Noise

Finally I'm back after a short hiatus and our regular programming can finally resume. Whole bunch of shit here, new and old and as per usual I'm too exhausted to provide much of a description. It's all good shit, I promise.

Couple of new things alongside some classics, spat this tape out over a couple late nights inbetween fits of boredom and a slightly amplified base level of paranoia as this stupid fucking year plods on.

VLAD TEPES – RETURNING TO MY OLD BATTLEGROUND

GORGON – THE LADY RIDES A BLACK HORSE

I miss the 95bFM coffee machine very dearly. A thousands praises to the skeleton crew keeping the station going.

This show was cobbled together during shifts at at my day job, serving customers out the window and jamming as much horrible shit as I can on the stereo, an attempt at pouring a weekful of paranoia into one tape. I'm back making and broadcasting these from home again, will hopefully use this lockdown to finish all the projects I've got lined up.

We've hit mixtape number thirty in this shithouse year and what better way to celebrate this occasion than to have ol' mate Sebpuku curating the first half of this mix (please excuse all the Australian accents) with a mixture of black and death metal (both classics, the obscure and his own circles), Sydney hip-hop and the goth-ier sides of his pallet. The second side of this tape is me, cobbled together over shifts at my day job and between classes in the crumbling institution I attend.

This week I had the pleasure of having Lord Wurm from Denton, Texas noisecore maniacs The Infernal Legions Of Mordor curating a massive two hour mixtape covering everything from synth pop to hardcore to black metal with a bunch of killer local stuff from his end too; the perfect fit for the show.

Its mostly grind and other fast shit tonight, with the odd pinch of black metal and hiphop interspersed with the worst of public access shows that I could find. A fair bit of new shit in here, tune in and drop the fuck out.

I need sleep and am too tired to write a decent description but there's loads of good shit in this one, not too much newer stuff and I play a fair bit of electronic shit. Enjoy.

Loads of Aussie stuff, old and new (Oily Boys!!), will put up the podcast once I've had some sleep. New Subdued record from La Vida Es Un Mus Discos definitely deserves a mention along with the killer synthy NRRRV song and a track from the fucked seven inch Barcelona released is on there too.

I'm back; there's tonnes of new shit from Iron Lung Records (that new Geld track in particular, psychedelic hardcore insanity from just over the ditch) and a whole bunch of stuff from the recent Breathing Problem Productions batch, loads of goregrind, power electronics and post-punk with (ofcourse) some classic hiphop too all woven together with some excerts from Ramsey Campbell and Phillip K Dick.

If you've ever been unfortunate enough to be cornered into one of 'those' kinds of bucket-bong yarns about music with me then you'll no doubt have had the punishing experience of hearing my thoughts on grindcore, in particular the 90s. This show in itself, is essentially modelled after 90s era Chaotic Noise Productions mixtapes; classics like Audio Terrorism, Earfull Of Shit and Evolution Of The Mutant Species showcase the obscure, the aggressive and the absurd woven together and presented on the only medium shit like this was made for. Few bands have ever satisfactorily bridged that gap between noise and grind but if anyone deserves the goddamn crown it's Suppression, who continue to be a huge influence on me, and this show; which is why I'm stoked to present you this mixtape curated by Jason Hodges from Chaotic Noise Productions. It's an obscene journey through classic hardcore records, ancient noisecore demos, stacks of stuff from the current CNP Roster and the latest shit from Suppression all woven together with news reports, prank phonecalls and late-night call ins.
