Jonathan does his best to calm his dad down, but Saul clearly still hates David. Nevertheless, Jonathan sticks his neck out for his best buddy one more time, encouraging him to flee far away. Their farewell is heartfelt and teary, just like the discussion in this episode (note: the tears are from laughing...hopefully!).
