Today I talk with Dennis Gillan. Dennis’s mission and story starts with his family. Eleven years apart he lost both of his brothers to suicide. He handled both differently, the death of his older brother by leaning on substances and the death of his younger brother by therapy and sobriety. He worked behind the scenes of suicide prevention for years but would never talk about his brothers. Until a fundraiser in 2010, Dennis started to talk… and that is the story we talk about today.

Dennis started the Half a Sorrow Foundation to further his suicide prevention mission and he recently wrote a children’s book titled Nice Shoes! A little compliment can go a long way.
