In this episode, we will discuss how we can make our preaching more vivid, more picturesque, and, thus, more engaging. Employing the proper techniques can help our listeners see what we are saying. When we speak using vivid language, our words can touch the human senses, drawing the congregation into the message so they can hear, see, touch, smell, and taste the picture we paint.
We will talk about the Bible's usage of various figures of speech. We will briefly discuss the vivid preaching of Jonathan Edwards. Then, we will close by speaking about some tools to help us become more pictorial, lifelike images in our words.
