W.E.B Du Bois famously wrote, “Children learn more from what you are than what you teach.” This timeless statement cuts to the core for any of us who are parents, and likely brings back memories from moments when our children have reflected our behaviors back to us, whether we liked what we saw or not. This week’s episode is an opportunity to look closely at the ways we are living, and consider whether they are in accordance with the example we want to set for our children. If we aren’t parents, we can ask whether we are living in a way that our future self will be grateful for. Whatever we discover, we are taking an intentional step to bringing awareness and compassion to our lives, to make sure we are living the example we want to set.
