Shaykh Hasan Ali divulges details on the Names of Allah beginning with the foremost name, the most widely used name, the first name to be used in the Noble Qur'an - ALLAH.
The Prophet ﷺ first asked of the Muslim Ummah to spread the Name of Allah by saying - Laa Ilaaha Illallaah and the Shahadah in which the last two phrases of the Shahadah end with Allah.
There are many different ways in which Allah has described Himself in the Noble Qur'an. He wants us to praise Him as He is worthy of praise. Allah gives out the greatest things to us.
We are also made to understand that two things are absolutely essential and at the core of trying to strengthen our belief - belief in Allah SWT and belief in the Last Day. No aqeedah is complete of a Mu'min without believing in Allah and applying that steadfast belief in one’s daily lives.
Imam Al Qurtubi goes on to share in the book being used by Shaykh Hasan Ali that the ultimate waswasa or deviation of Shaytan is to make us question the existence of Allah SWT. Shaytan makes us ponder - if nothing was present before Allah, then who created Allah? These sort of questions causes us to go astray and deviate from the path of Islam. It should be sufficient for us to believe that Allah was always in existence and we being a Mu'min should firmly believe so to avoid spoiling our aqeedah.
Some of the aspects of Allah that we should refrain from pondering upon are as follows:
How Allah looks like. This is something that we will never know unless we are blessed on the Day of Judgement or if we are among the dwellers of Jannah.
Limiting Allah to a specific dimension - if someone does so, he has indeed committed Kufr. For example, if we think that Allah sits on a throne, then we have limited Allah to specific dimensions which is impossible.
Assuming Allah to be the light itself - Allah is the Provider of Light of the Heavens and the Earth and so it is wrong to say that Allah is the Light Himself.
We can stay away from these deviations by following what the Noble Prophet ﷺ ordained us to do which is to think about the Attributes of Allah and the creations of Allah rather than thinking of Allah Himself as this is something which is not comprehensible from our intellect. If we continue to do so, then it will eventually make us go into a tangent of waswasa and an ultimate on at that by Shaytan.
Allah is Infinite and He does not have a past, present or future. Rather, it is He who has created all of these time frames.
