We all thought that the song was talking about patriotism, but Born in the USA was talking about the involvement of the U.S in war. I thought the song by War, "Why Can't We Be Friends," had no meaning and yet the entire song was made to promote unity. Boy did I misunderstand. What should we do when we are misunderstood.
