The heat of the summer invites us to reflect on the dry times of life and the rootedness that sustains us through those times. Even when flowers and gardens wilt and water is scarce, there is water deep beneath the ground. We consider trees which are nourished by the water and provide us with shade and cool spaces. Trees are interconnected and in the same way, we are interconnected. Our nourishment comes from having roots planted deep in God's soil.
