The Stations of the Cross, also known as the Way of Sorrows or the Via Crucis, refers to a series of images depicting Jesus Christ on the day of his crucifixion and accompanying prayers. Jesus comes to receive his cross. It is a tremendous gesture showing all peoples his love for them openly, because this cross which he is receiving is their cross. He takes the burden of the whole world upon himself.
