Paul writes his letter to the churches in Galatia in defense of the pure gospel he had preached among them. His opening words ,however, are full of good news from God. Before he begins his passionate defense he gives a brief summary of the gospel he had believed and that they had received. We can not effectively defend  the gospel without a clear definition of its content.
