A Blessing in Disguise
Venus has is newly appointed as parish priest. She is a widow with a young daughter and she has to try to come to terms with the recent death of her husband, her new parishioners' curiosity and in some cases antagonism, and her daughter's dislike of her new home. On the plus side her parents are supportive and she soon makes friends in the parish.
I thought this book started off well but flagged towards the middle. It is an interesting and well written story and Venus is a likeable and admirable character. I thought the other characters were well drawn too but something didn't quite click with me and I found it a chore to finish the book. Others may well enjoy it.
