The Bible teaches us how to become less of ourselves and more focused on God and others. I often think to myself that our Christian life is like a candle. It burns and becomes empty; in that process, it gives light to the darkness. If we receive any benefits from obeying God’s Word, then they are for the benefit of God’s Kingdom and others around us. A believer’s life should not be full at the end of their journey; rather, it should be empty fully exhausted for the purposes of God in this world.
