A Chat in the Garden

Listen Later

AfroSwimmers is a non-profit organization with a global media campaign to prioritize swimming as a life skill within underrepresented communities all over the world. Our goals are to educate, include, innovate, and expand the world of swimming. Education is used to increase Black participation in aquatics by teaching water safety and exposure to aquatic sports. Inclusion unites the Afro-swim community by promoting culture through hair texture rather than race or nationality. Innovation changes paradigms to eliminate the stereotype that Black people don’t swim. The expansion of the movement will be televised, marketed, and globalized through the media hashtag, #Afroswimmers. Swimming is more than a sport, it is a safety tool and therapy for healthy lifestyle development that should be accessible to everyone, no matter what you look like or where you live. Swim More.
