In this episode, I am joined by Dr. Andrew Hendershot MD. Dr. Hendershot is an Associate Professor of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center where he serves as Program Director for the Ophthalmology Residency Program. We talk about his non-traditional path to getting into ophthalmology residency, what are the challenges and rewards of being a program director, his advice for ophthalmology residency applicants this cycle, what he is looking for in applicants for his program at The Ohio State, and finally what he is excited about going on at OSU's program that makes it a great place to train. You can follow Dr. Hendershot on Twitter at @EyeDocAndyH and follow the Department of Ophthalmology at OSU on Twitter @OhioStateEye.
