My guest in this episode is Dr. Gary Wörtz MD. He is a renowned name in the field of cataract and refractive surgery in ophthalmology. He is the host of one of the biggest podcasts in ophthalmology, "Ophthalmology Off the Grid", Chief Medical Advisor for Omega Ophthalmics, and the Editor in Chief of "MillenialEye". Dr. Wörtz is based in Lexington, Kentucky and we met via Twitter after I reached out to him, as a fellow Kentuckian, a couple months ago. I explained how "Off the Grid" was the influence for me to make a professional Twitter account, he then graciously invited me to hang out with him to observe cataract surgeries for an afternoon.

We had the opportunity to catch up and talk about how he started in the field, how cataract surgery is like a performance sport, what he has learned from failure, how he got his start in podcasting, and how everyone applying for residency in ophthalmology has their own special talent/brand to bring to the table as aspiring ophthalmologists.
