In this episode, I am joined by Dr. Rohit Ross Lakhanpal MD F.A.C.S. Dr. Lakhanpal is a renowned expert in the medical and surgical management of vitreoretinal disease. His contributions to the field have made major impacts in the use of 25 gauge vitrectomy surgery and the use of intraocular retinal prosthesis. Dr. Lakhanpal was appointed by OSN as one of the Top 150 Medical and Surgical Retina Innovators in North America.
Dr. Lakhanpal is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Retina Society, the American Society of Retina Specialists, Club Vit., the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and the Maryland Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. A publisher author in over 50 peer-reviewed scientific journals and multiple textbook chapters, Dr. Lakhanpal has dedicated his passion for the field into bringing other retina specialists together to form the Vit-Buckle Society (VBS).
As it’s current President, Dr. Lakhanpal’s work in VBS has paved the way for intergenerational community building and collaboration in a collegial and friendly environment. With over 900 attendees at some of the latest virtual meetings, VBS has extended to an international audience and continues to grow.
