One of the most wonderful things about walking with Jesus is the cleansing of the conscience. Coming to the Lord Jesus in faith allows the Holy Spirit to wash our conscience and remove the pain of guilt and shame.
The doctrine of substitution:
Jesus became our substitute in death. He died the death we should die (the death of a sinner separated from God).
“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
– 2 Corinthians 5:21
