Impeachment has been thrown around in America for the last three years. Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives have demanded the impeachment of President Trump virtually since he was inaugurated into office. The results of the 2016 election have bugged them since the American people passed the torch from a more socialist worldview president. The thoughts of losing power have eclipsed their common sense. Podcast 97 discusses impeachment and how this has caused a bigger divide into our country which is leading to a Cold Civil War in America.
What Exactly is Impeachment?
If you were to ask the average America citizen most could not tell you what impeachment is. Most of those in the Gen Z crowd think that it will automatically remove President Trump from office. Some would even think it may put Hillary Clinton in the White House. As students of history, my front porch family knows this is not true. Front Porch Politics always wants to pontificate. I do my best to show off my pedagogical skills. So what is impeachment?
Impeachment is the process by which a legislative body levels charges against a government official. Contrary to many beliefs, impeachment does not remove the official from office. Impeachment is the equivalent to an indictment in criminal law. It is only the statement of charges against the official. The glorious revolution Socialist Democrats in our country envision will not be solved simply by impeachment.
After Impeachment has Taken Place
Democrats have struggled to find a reason to actually impeach the president. For example, Al Green of Texas has asked for impeachment several times on the House floor. All which have failed. Today we find ourselves again hearing the battle cry of impeachment as Democrats cry foul over a phone call to Ukraine. What if this impeachment demand is successful? Will Hillary placed in the White House? Not quite.
Once an individual is impeached, they must then face the possibility of conviction on the charges by a legislative vote. A vote which has yet to be taken on the House floor. The Speaker of the House can call for an official vote. Nancy Pelosi is yet to do so. Instead, she has told the American people how she constantly regrets having to do this.
Front Porch family you can see this is all bull. If she was so heartbroken why allow such questionable acts. Adam Schiff is now mired in controversy. This impeachment is about one thing. Doing away with what you think. Pelosi has made it clear. If you oppose her party, you will suffer.
Impeachment is Leading to a Cold Civil War
While Pelosi can lie about her intentions one thing is clear. If you want to seek office as an outsider you are wrong. This is a clear shot at anyone who opposes her agenda. If you commit to draining the swamp you will be reprimanded. Maxine Watters has even carried it a step further. She accused President Trump of trying to start a Civil War.
