tOur community, as well as several other towns around us, suffered what has been described as a "tremendous tragedy" in recent days. Some of our friends are planning four funerals in the wake of what was supposed to be a benefit fundraiser.

It was a beautiful day as the unthinkable happened at 11:20 a.m. on Saturday, June 3rd. Hundreds of lives will never be the same. We don't understand it.

I hope we learn from this awful event. I hope we become better people. I hope we do some soul searching to make sure we make better decisions. I hope, as Christians, we pray for all of those involved---even the driver of the car who caused this grief and trauma. I do understand the anger and the pain. I just don't think it's good to stay there.

Make a difference.
Do the right things.
Make good decisions.
Life is too short.
