In this episode of Voices from Healthcare, I sit down with Abby Hess, nurse practitioner and clinical researcher. After completing her doctoral degree, she worked with leadership to create a dual role that has included research and innovation in addition to seeing patients. Her research centers around the development and testing of evidence-based digital health solutions for the reduction of pediatric preoperative anxiety. We touch on her dual degree within nursing, her creative loves outside the hospital, and the importance for nurses to lead and be a part of healthcare innovation.
