Our Creatives Series continues with a wholesome conversation with artist Deng Forbez popularly known as Art by Deng. Deng is a prominent South Sudanese artist who's amassed thousands of online followers who are fans of his artwork. His artworks depict various aspects of South Sudanese culture as well as South Sudanese women in a positive light. Deng is also known for his unique t-shirt prints that are a part of his Ross Wear clothing brand. As an activist Deng founded Creative HEarts Initiative a youth-led organization that specializes in developing art programs and workshops for South Sudanese Youth. In this episode Deng shares a little bit of his journey towards becoming an artist. We delve into his perspectives on the art economy in South Sudan and wrap up with some cool insights about his personality.
