Guest: Jordan Zeik, Pastor of Liberty Baptist Church (Spokane, WA)
Episode Description:
In this episode of The Fellowship Podcast, host Randy Harp sits down with Jordan Zeik, pastor of Liberty Baptist Church in Spokane, WA.
Jordan shares about growing up in a pastor’s home and the unique perspective that came from being surrounded by ministry from an early age. Although he once planned to become a math teacher, the Lord redirected his path, making it clear that his calling was in pastoral ministry.
Jordan discusses his ministry journey, including serving at Noble Hill Baptist Church in Missouri, before eventually returning to his home church in Spokane. He opens up about the unexpected loss of his father, who had faithfully pastored Liberty Baptist Church for nearly nineteen years, and the difficult transition that followed. With honesty and humility, Jordan shares what it has been like to step into that role, shepherd a grieving church, and lead through a season of change, healing, and revitalization.
Throughout the conversation, Jordan speaks about lessons he has learned while leading during a challenging season, the importance of wise counsel, and the need to remain focused on the church's mission. Jordan talks about his passion for reading and mentions the book The Measure of a Man, as well as copies that once belonged to his grandfather, his father, and now his own. Gene Getz, the author of the book, makes a special appearance to share his appreciation for that story.
Jordan also reflects on his connection to the Baptist Bible Fellowship International, the relational strength of the BBFI, and his growing involvement in helping relaunch fellowship efforts in the Pacific Northwest.
Whether you are a pastor, missionary, ministry leader, or simply someone who loves hearing how God works through faithful servants, this episode will encourage you.
