God's promises last forever. He is loyal and persistent with His promises. It's because of Israel's unfaithfulness to God and God's persistence that mercy and forgiveness are available to us. God's covenant comes through repentance. In turn we need to be gracious to those who are undeserving and respond with love and loyalty.
