Throughout biblical history, God established six major covenants with humanity, each revealing His character and commitment to His creation. Beginning with Adam and Eve, God offered dominion over creation while testing their trust. After humanity's fall, God's covenant with Noah demonstrated His mercy, promising never to destroy the world by flood again. Through Abraham, God initiated a plan for a chosen people, promising to create a great nation despite impossible circumstances. The Mosaic Covenant established God's law, while the Davidic Covenant promised an eternal kingdom through David's lineage. Each of these covenants built upon the previous ones, leading to their ultimate fulfillment in Christ. The New Covenant, established through Jesus's sacrifice, represents the pinnacle of God's promises, offering forgiveness and eternal relationship with Him to all humanity. While humans often failed to keep their covenant obligations, God remained consistently faithful to His promises. This pattern of divine faithfulness continues today, inviting people to trust in God's unchanging character and respond with worship and obedience.
