The amendment brought into the Unlawful Assembly(Prevention) Act,1967 in the year 2019 led to several discussions and debates about numerous additions and deletions in the amendment Act. The most notable change brought into the Act was the excessive authority granted to the Central Government to charge individuals as terrorists for the conduction of 'unlawful activities.' Hence, the question that arises duly in the exercise of the Act is the possibility of eradicating an individual's right to dissent.
