Psalms 78:1-7
I. The undeniable impact of a father.
A person’s own folly leads to their ruin, yet their heart rages against the Lord.
II. What children need from us.
Folly is bound up in the heart of a child, but the rod of discipline (instruction) will drive it far away.
The Big Idea: “Yes, I love you” and “No, you can’t have your own way.”
III. High impact ideas.
a. Keep your marriage strong.
b. Train and instruct (disciple).
c. Give them time.
d. Pray for them.
e. Encourage them with words.
Words for your sons: “I love you. I am proud of you. You have the right stuff.”
Words for your daughters: “I love you. I am proud of you. You are precious to me.”
The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him.
