Learning Conversation

A Day in the Life Discussion

Listen Later

25 min.  Daily Schedule Discussion. A follow-up discussion after exchanging schedules.  Pierre and Maureen discuss lifestyle diseases.  Maureen suggests people might have too many priorities.  She references:  Mark Manson:  The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck.

Pierre expresses empathy for everyone experiencing the pressures of society, which puts many lesser goals in front of health and loving connection.  How does our culture affect our choices?

Maureen calls bullshit on not being able to make choices around environmental conditioning, citing the prevalence of excuse making, or simply not paying attention. We have choices.  We are privileged.  We should be able to make choices for our own benefit. We set ourselves up with stressors and suffer.

Are we on the whining side or the winning side of our choices?

For hundreds of thousands of years, no body had a schedule.  How do we handle schedules now?  Is it surprising that there is a lot of dis-ease with our lives and lifestyles built around schedules which get broken down to hour and half-hour blocks?

There is a different outro to this one.  Wait for it.  Go Maureen!
