TL;DL (Too long, didn’t listen)
Hey y’all, welcome back to A Day in the Life 👋🏼This is Day 2 of something I’m doing in collaboration with Simone Grace Seol’s “Mini Truth or Dare Challenge”—a dare to take up a little more space in our businesses than we might be comfortable with.
Yesterday, I talked about my One-Month Support offer—what it is, how it works, and why I created it.Today, I want to tell you a story. A client story. A transformation story. A human story.
Let’s call her Maya.
The story
When Maya first came to me, she was in a deep fog of self-doubt.
She’d lost multiple jobs over a few years—not because of her skills, but because of toxic workplaces, micromanaging bosses, and environments that didn’t honor her way of working or her needs. And after the third or fourth time it happened… she started wondering:
“Is it me? Am I the common denominator?”
She was anxious. Burnt out. Considering whether she needed to go back to school just to feel legitimate again.
And when we started working together, I could tell right away:She didn’t need another degree.
She needed validation, clarity, and structure that actually fit her brain and body.
What we did together
Over the month we worked together, we focused on both the emotional and tangible.
* We practiced nervous system check-ins, walking rituals, somatic journaling.
* We talked about how her ADHD shaped her workday, and how to visualize + organize her priorities in ways that felt possible.
* We created job-search affirmations that didn’t feel fake, and made space to process her grief around past roles.
And—yes—we also:
* Rebuilt her resume
* Refreshed her LinkedIn
* Did mock interviews that were embodied, not robotic
It wasn’t just about landing a job.
It was about remembering her worth—before she stepped into another interview room.
At the end of our month together, Maya said she finally felt validated.She felt like someone had actually seen her—not just her output.
She loved the resources. She appreciated the mix of structure and softness.
And she left the container with more than just a resume—she left with a renewed trust in herself.
“I was losing jobs due to bad managers. And was filled with lots of stress and anxiety [before working with Raquel]. As we worked together, I felt validated by the check-ins on how this made me feel and the resources provided to me were so helpful! I loved this service and I hope to work with you again in the future!”
This is the work I want to keep doing.
This is what the One-Month Support offer is built for.
Not to overwhelm you with coaching calls or PDFs…But to meet you where you are, walk with you for a month, and give you both structure and softness, strategy and self-trust.
If this resonates—or if someone in your world needs this—you can find the link in the notes.
And tomorrow… I’ll share one last reflection to close this three-day series:Why this challenge stretched me—and why I think business, at its best, is a form of healing.
Thanks for being here. đź’“đź’“ Talk to you tomorrow!
Thanks for reading The Broken Ladder! This post is public so feel free to share it.
